Detailed hardware design
Starting point for the hardware development is the system architecure.
Deliverable of the hardware development is a Hardware Detailed Design (HDD) document. In the HDD the detailed design choices for the product will be described.
CAD tooling
At Confed Solutions we use Altium Designer as CAD tool.
Besides the connectivity between the components, a relevant aspect of the design is also the interface with its enclosure. Altium provides the possibilities to verify the interaction with the mechanical design.
All libraries and components used within Confed Solutions are contained in a managed environment: Altium Concord Pro. This includes a shared library for all engineers, revision management of components and where-used functionality.
The Technical Product Documentation (TPD) contains all relevant information necessary for assembly of the Printed Circuit Boards.
Prototyping and integration
The result of the hardware development is the creation of prototypes, on which validation testing is executed followed by integration of the embedded software.
